Visit days give you a chance to find out more about us.
Once you have submitted your UCAS form, you may be invited to attend a visit day. These take place between January and May. Applicants selected to attend a visit day will receive an email invitation.
What to expect
On the day you will be engaged in a series of activities.
The day will start with an introductory talk from the Head of Foundation Studies. The talk will give you more information about the content, structure and delivery of the course.
You will complete a short 'diagnostic' test covering maths, physics and, in some cases, chemistry (depending on your chosen degree). The results of the test will give us a better idea of your current level and range of knowledge in these key subject areas. This is not an entrance exam, it simply gives us more information which, alongside the rest of your details, allows us to make a decision on your application.
During the day, you will have the opportunity to chat with some of our current students as well as members of the Foundation Year team. This is a great opportunity to ask about the course, accommodation, sports facilities, social activities or any aspect of student life.
You will be given a tour around some of our facilities and buildings located on the North Campus.
Parents or guests are welcome to attend the visit day with you. They may wish to join you for the introductory talk, Q&A and tour. Alternatively, they may wish to explore the campus and city independently. Please inform us of any guests (max. one per applicant) and dietary requirements when you confirm your attendance for the visit day.
